This book is a collection of my photos from when I got my first camera during the Covid lockdown of 2020 until 2023. The photos are more or less in order, but organized by year.

The Door and Tree is one of the first pictures I took when I got my first camera. Taking and editing the original version in 2020 was an experience that sparked a love or photography, a love that allowed me to express myself in a new way. I shot the photo again in 2023, shown at the end of the book.

The transparency of the pages represent the fluidity of my experience, it has always been a passion driven passtime so the lack of pressure to perform in any regard has made my experience taking photos a very fluid and calm one, full of self exploration that continues to occur randomly and spontaneously. The result is two very different Door and Tree photos.

Rooted in my college degree studying architecture, I emphasize the formal nature of my learning and how it materializes in my photos through the ability to transform the book into a piece of architecture, a gallery that unfolds onto a wall. It is a door to be opened, a space to enter.
